Commit to Take Action this May 1st to Stop the Billionaire Agenda
This May 1st, Sunrise is joining dozens of unions and movement organizations to call for a National Day of Action to Stop the Billionaire Agenda. The only thing that will stop billionaires is everyday people ceasing to participate. When we stop working, stop buying, and stop letting them defund our climate wins, our healthcare, our futures. Sunrise has a plan to put on ever growing mass strikes again and again from now to 2028 to grind their profit making to a halt. It starts this May 1st.
Why May 1st?
- May 1, 2025 will mark the end of Trump’s 100 days in office.
- It is International Workers’ Day in commemoration of the Haymarket Affair in Chicago (1886), where the struggle for the 8 hour workday was forged.
- It marks 3 years from the date, United Auto Workers has called on unions to align their contracts.
This is a huge opportunity for us to build the disruptive capacity of our generation and the labor movement. This is how we build the muscle of mass non-cooperation and get to mass strikes.
