“We are honored to have national civil rights hero Rep. John Lewis stand alongside us as young people and support Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s call for a Green New Deal. Few can better understand the relentless work to push our nation to achieve it’s highest ideals than John Lewis. He knows that disrupting the status quo is how change happens. His activism and integrity inspire us to believe we can win.
“In just one week, 10 members of Congress have issued their support for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Select Committee for a Green New Deal. New supporters include Joe Neguse (CO-02), Earl Blumenauer (OR-03), Carolyn Maloney (NY-12), Jose Serrano (NY-15) and Ayanna Pressley (MA-07). One thing is clear: the plan for a Green New Deal is catching fire in the Democratic party.
